State logs 53 new cases, 9 pc TPR

With the detection of 53 new Covid cases in the state at 9 per cent test positivity rate, the total number of active cases stands at 582 while 86 patients recovered on Saturday, which remained free from any fatalities.
Out of 53 new cases (21 male & 32 female), 21 are from Imphal West, 15 from Imphal East, four from Senapati, three each from Thoubal and Churachandpur, two each from Kangpokpi, Ukhrul, Chandel and one from Tamenglong districts.
On Saturday, 86 patients were discharged from home isolation (56), JNIMS (2), RIMS (4) and SHRI (4) while backlogged cases of 20 were enlisted as recoveries on Saturday.
Out of the total of 38 Covid beds in JNIMS, 16 are vacant while RIMS has 24 vacant beds out of 62 .
So far, the state has recorded 1792 positive cases and nine deaths since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic with the current month accounting for 1767 of the new positive cases and all the fatalities.
As on Friday, 84 D-type and 5 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities and 5,609 vaccine doses administered which took the cumulative number of first dose vaccinated population to 16,13,650, out of which 12,86,300 had received the second dose and 2,02,035 administered with precautionary doses.
