KNF (N) washes hands off cross firing

Imphal, January 30 2017:
The proscribed KNF (N) has categorically clarified that the outfit has no connection whatsoever with the alleged cross firing that took place at Moulsohoi village under Litan police station, Ukhrul district on January 28 night in which two workers were killed.
According to a press release issued by information and publicity secretary of KNF (N) Gogou Vaiphei, the firing took place after members of a gang abducted the workers.
It termed the attempt of relating the outfit with such kind of act as unfortunate, saying the sources who related KNF (N) with the incident may have been misquoted.
The outfit declared that it will award befitting punishment against those responsible for the abduction.
The outfit was timely tipped about the abduction of the three workers by a gang group but it could not face the abductors due to security reasons, it said.
The gang members ran away after they came to know that KNF (N) was well aware of their offensive act.
The outfit will not sit idle till the perpetrators are traced, the release mentioned.
Saying that signatory groups under SoO should not entertain and accommodate such gang members, it said that such incident has the tendency to create animosity amongst different communities.
KNF (N) in the release further clarified that its cadres are not issued pistols when they are sent out for works.
