Imphal, August 28 2022: The State reported one COVID-19 related fatality and four new positive cases during the last 24 hours.

The single fatality reported from Ukhrul had co-morbidities and was not vaccinated.

The cumulative death toll has reached 2147 .

The four new positive cases were reported from Imphal West (2), Chura-chandpur (1) and Kangpokpi (1).As the four cases were detected while testing 366 samples at various testing centres, the daily positivity rate was reported at 1.1 percent, slightly higher than yesterday's 0.6 percent.

With the addition of these new cases, the cumulative number of positive cases in the State now stands at 1,39,677 including 1,34,657 from general population and 5020 CAPF personnel.

The recovery rate also showed a slight improvement to 98.42 percent with 22 persons discharged today after completion of surveillance.

The State currently has 64 active cases.

1622 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered yesterday at various vaccination centres across the State.

Till yesterday, the State had vaccinated 62.31 per cent of its eligible population with the first doses of COVID-19 vaccines while 54.39 percent had received their second doses.
