Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) celebrates

The Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) celebrated its seventh foundation anniversary at Leimayol Arts Centre, Singjamei Chingamakha today.
While KSA secretary general Surchand Ningthouja highlighted participation/involvement of the students' body in different activities related to education, sports and human rights issues, invited dignitaries called upon the Association to continuously contribute towards overall development of Manipur.
Presenting the key-note address, Surchand said since its inception on this day in 2005, KSA had been taking active part in the development of education and promote sports activities in addition to joining hands with various organisations in demanding scrapping of AFSPA from Manipur and implement inner line permit system in the State.
He also pledged that KSA would continue to strive for overall development of education in Manipur.
Among the invitees who addressed the gathering, IPSA president E Johnson urged the students' organisations to expose faulty policies and misrule of the Government while AMUCO president KT Rahman called upon the students' bodies to exert pressure upon the Government for including contribution of Manipuri forefathers as a school syllabus.
Noting that the next academic session would be start in February, Rahman suggested that KSA and other students' organisations take the initiative to ensure availability of text books in time.
Rahman also suggested that volunteers of students' organisations closely monitor behaviour and conduct of students to ensure that they do not venture into wasteful activities.
Among others, Kanglamei president Y Leirik Leima, IPSA advisor H Ibotombi Khuman, KSA president Th Premananda and representatives of civil society organisations also attended the celebration.
