Imphal, May 27 2019:
Pointing the finger of accusation at the Tatmadaw (Myanmar Army) of creating a war like situation in the Naga areas in Myanmar by deploying a large number of military personnel and heavy artillery creating a fear psychosis amongst the civilians, the NSCN (K) has asserted that this is nothing but violation of the ceasefire agreement that it signed with the Government of Myanmar on April 9, 2012 .
In a statement issued to the press, the outfit said that the five points of the peace pact include, to stop fighting and cease all hostilities, a ceasefire office to be designated at Khamti town, to provide information on troops' movement within each other's jurisdiction, free passage to NSCN /GPRN members within Myanmar (without arms and uniform) and the Myanmar Government and NSCN/GPRN will cooperate and work together to promote peace and development in Naga areas.
The peace pact is clear with no hidden agenda, said the outfit and added that the complexity arises when the Myanmar Government starts being hostile towards the Nagas.
Baseless allegations have been levelled against the NSCN/GPRN and enforcing the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) on the Nagas, alleged the outfit and added that despite this, the NSCN has refused to sign the NCA.
The NCA is completely alien to the Nagas and has nothing to do with the Naga struggle for independence, it added.
On January 29, 2019, the Myanmar Army Northern Command comprising of eight battalions forced their way into the Council Headquarters at Taka, alleged the outfit and added that despite this, the NSCN maintained extreme restraint and vacated the headquarters.
Some senior party members (ceasefire delegation team) and Naga Army cadres were arrested by the Myanmar Army under false charges and they have been confined at Khamti prison till date.
Taking advantage of the situation, the Government of India is masterminding the current joint operation, extending all logistics and material support to the Myanmar Army, alleged NSCN and added that this is a covert and well coordinated operation to completely wipe out the Naga revolution and continue their hegemonic policies.
The outfit further accused India and Myanmar of trying to divide the Nagas based on the artificial boundary and completely assimilate and submerge the Nagas politically, economically and culturally into their 'so called mainstream forever' .
The outfit added that despite this the revolutionary march will continue and acknowledged all the support from the Naga citizens.
