Imphal, April 26 2015 :
Two alleged drug dealers have been rounded up by volunteers of the Anti-Drug Coordination Committee (ADCC), Khomidok formerly known as Khomidok Sorok Mapal Village Anti-Drug Committee.
Speaking to media persons this afternoon, ADCC assistant secretary Md Aadin said that three other drug dealers have also been identified from the disclosure of the two apprehended drug dealers.
Md Firoz (38) s/o late Najeruddin of Khomidok Sorok Mapal was rounded up from his farm house located at Khomidok Chingya at around 1.30 pm today while Md Aten (26) s/o Aulia of Khomidok Masjid Maning was pulled up from his home.
Firoz was asked to give in to the ADCC yesterday but he failed to comply forcing volunteers of the committee to round him up today.
Md Aten is a bigger fish.
He was rounded up on April 24 but he was let off on the promise that he would bring one Mahesh who is leader of the drug cartel.
After taking intoxicating drugs in bulk from Mahesh, Md Aten used to peddle drugs at Khomidok, Khabeisoi and surrounding areas in pieces, Md Aadin said.
Together with Firoz, Aten sold 15 cartons of SP capsules recently.
In addition, Aten sold 30 cartons of SP capsules to Md Kumdin (38) of Khabeisoi, 27 cartons of SP capsules to Md Mubi (38) of Khomidok Mang Manak and 15 cartons of SP capsules to Md Azad Khan (32) of Khomidok Masjid Maning.
Some other people are also involved in the drug deal.
Firoz and Aten are being questioned so as to obtained all the details.
In the course of the ongoing drive which was launched since March 27, hundreds of drug abusers were pulled up and drugs recovered from their possession.
However, ADCC has so far been unable to seize any drug from drug dealers or peddlers, Md Aadin said.
Kumdin, Mubi and Azad Khan should give in to the ADCC by Friday or else the matter would be passed on to relevant Government authorities, he added.
