State players' spectacular performance at CWG Glasgow : Govt announces Rs 15 lakh reward

A cash award of Rs 15 lakh has been announced for Khumukcham Sanjita for winning gold medal in the ongoing 20th Glasgow Commonwealth Games in weightlifting.
Chief Minister O Ibobi made this announcement in the State Assembly during zero hour today.
Dr I Ibohalbi remarked that the amazing feat of the Mani-puri players who won gold, silver and bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games thereby putting India in the medals tally deserved accolades.
Ibobi maintained that winning four medals by Manipuri players who are representing India at the CWG being participated by more than 70 countries is no mean achievement and they deserve appreciation from all.
The Chief Minister announced that cash awards of Rs 15 lakh would be given to gold medal winner Khumuk-cham Sanjita, Rs 10 lakh each to silver medal winners Saikhom Mirabai (weightlifting), Sushila Likmabam (judo) and Rs 8 lakh to bron-ze medal winner Kalpana Thoudam (judo) .
Ibobi also assured all possible assistance from the side of the State Government in the Manipuri players' quest for Olympic medals.
Kh Joykisan drew attention of the Government to the inconveniences suffered by students and teachers of Manipur Public School because of prohibition of even vehicle parking at the school campus by army authority.
MLA L Ibomcha said that he was shocked on seeing video footages of police kicking around seated students in the course of the agitation on Inner Line Permit System.
He also appealed to the Chief Minister to advise police personnel not to commit excesses.
Nunghlung Victor appealed for withdrawal of security forces deployed at Ukhrul in the aftermath of the assassination of ADC Member Ngalangzar.
