Territorial Council discussed in SoO talk

The ninth round of Tripartite Talk with the SoO groups was held from 11 am today at The Ashoka Hotel, New Delhi with the Centre's Interlocutor AB Mathur and the State Interlocutor Dr Ibocha Singh representing the Government along with India's internal intelligence agency Director AK Mishra.
The SoO groups were represented by PS Haokip, president KNO, Thanglianpau, president ZRO-UPF, Pu Kamkhanpau, president ZDV-UPF, ST Thangboi, president KNF and several other leaders from the two umbrella organisations.
The charter of demands placed by the groups for the creation of Kuki Zomi Territorial Council was discussed today for the first time, said a source privy to the talks proceedings.

Formation of 'Territorial Council' is said to be the main demand in the of UPF and KNO.
There were a good number of agreements on the issue during the discussion while there were also a number of other contentious topics which needed further modification and discussion, it added.
Even though no joint press communique has been issued or even telephonic contact could be made it is learnt that the talk was successful.
A reliable source said that the charter of demands submitted by the KNO and UPF were minutely discussed during the talks.
More significantly, the source, further said that boundary issue will be discussed in the next round of talks which will be convened very soon.
Though there is no exact date fixed for the next round of talks, both the sides reportedly agreed to hold it at the earliest possible date.
The source also thanked the public, Churches and CSOs for upholding them in their prayer and for standing with them through thick and thin even as it requested them to continue upholding them in their prayers.
