Based on information on likely presence of armed cadres of NSCN (K) in general area of old Noney, a search operation was launched on June 23 at 11 pm by a team of security forces under Red Shield Division.
The operation resulted in busting a temporary hideout reportedly of militant group, NSCN(K) and recovery of 38 live rounds of AK-47, 65 rounds of 9mm ball, 11 rucksacks, 17 combat shirts, Tarpaulin sheets, 15 plastic ponchos, 1 steel trunk and other warlike stores during the search of the area, a statement issued by the PIB (DW) said.
It is assessed that the house was being used as hideout by the same group of NSCN (K) cadres who were involved in a fire fight with security forces in Songlung on June 22 which resulted in the killing of six militants, the statement added.
Meanwhile, troops of Red Shield Division recovered two unexploded Improvised Explosive Devices near Permanent Vehicle Check Point of Beheng on June 21 .
According to a PIB (DW) statement, the IEDs were recovered approximately 25 meters away from Permanent Vehicle Check Post in the bushes during the routine search and sanitisation of the area.
The Army bomb disposal team destroyed both the Remote Controlled IEDs at 5.50 pm, it added.
