KYKL (MDF) Publicity Secy, 3 UGs, one OGW nabbed

Imphal, June 25 2011:
Even as police have claimed to have arrested the publicity secretary of KYKL (MDF), security forces have arrested three other UGs and one over ground worker from different places.
According to a press release issued by the Senior SP of Imphal West district, the hardcore member of the outfit namely, Sorangbam Sanaton alias Tiken Meitei (37) s/o late Amujao of Haoreibi Mayai Leikai was nabbed by a combined security team of Imphal West district police commandos and troops of 18 Sikh Regiment from his own locality at around 12.30 pm yesterday.
On spot verification, the press release said, Tiken disclosed that he joined the outfit in 2010 through one Thouba, s/s chairman of
the outfit.
Thirteen press releases signed by publicity secretary M Tiken Meitei and chairman Thouba, six rubber stamps having the names of project officer, publicity officer, general secretary, finance secretary and chairman military of Military Defence Force, round seal of MDF, one Kodak digital camera C140 grey in colour, one Sony digital camera grey in colour, one Sony handycam CDR-HC 52 grey in colour, one micromax mobile handset along with Aircel and Reliance SIM cards were seized from his possession.
In another incident, Imphal West district police commandos arrested one KLA activist from near TD office yesterday.
He has been identified as Sonkhothang alias Thangboi (35) .
On questioning, he disclosed that he along with Mangcha alias Alen, Neopa, Sehpu and LK alias Paokholun kidnapped Hollet, Chief of Dampi village and Paothang, secretary of Dampi village for ransom.
One mobile handset was seized from his possession.
In another incident, troops of 33 Assam Rifles of Loktak Brigade under Red Shield Division nabbed one over ground worker of PREPAK from Bishnupur district yesterday.
He has been identified as Ningthoujam Sanatomba Singh (56) s/o late Ningthoujam Kala Singh of Khordak Mayai Leikai.
On questioning, Kala revealed that he was involved in recruitment, tax collection, and extortion activities of the outfit at Khordak area.
He has been handed over to Kumbi police station, said a press release issued by PIB (DW) .
Imphal West District Police Commandos have apprehended two underground activists, one belonging to PREPAK and the other to PREPAK (P) from different areas today.
According to a statement issued by Senior SP of Imphal West district, the PREPAK activist identified as Wangjam Gobind Singh (32) s/o Late W Chaoba Meitei of Thoubal Khunou Awang Leikai was arrested from near Axis ARM Booth, RIMS Road crossing at around 7.30 am today.
On spot verification, Gobin disclosed that he working under the command of one S/S Yaiphaba of PREPAK since last 8/9 months and he was assigned to extort huge amount of money from Government departments for party fund.
One mobile handset was seized from his possession.
On the other hand, the PREPAK (P) activist identified as Mayengbam Manimukta Singh alias Naoton (41) s/o M Haimo Singh of Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai near NRL Petrol Pump was arrested from his own locality at around 8 am.
On spot verification Manimukta disclosed that he working under the command of one S/S Boy of the outfit and he was assigned to extort money from general public for party fund.
One Chinese mobile handset was seized from his possession, the SSP informed.
In the meantime, a combined team of Imphal West district police commandos and personnel of 28th Assam Rifles have reportedly arrested one UNLF activist identified as Khomdram Chinglen alias Ibungochoubi (42) s/o Ibocha of Mongsangei Makha Leikai from near Mira Public School, Mongsangei Makha Leikai at around 6.30 pm yesterday.
The SSP informed in the same statement that on spot verification, the Chinglen reportedly disclosed that he joined the outfit in November, 2009 through one Robindro and has been working as a project nominee under his command.
Further, Chinglen disclosed that he had extorted huge amount of money from contractors, shopkeepers and RGGVY, etc for party fund, the statement added.
