Water supply project works in Langthabal AC to commence from December 1, says Karam Shyam

MLA of Langthabal Assembly Constituency, Karam Shyam has declared that work on the projects undertaken to provide clean drinking water to the people of the constituency will commence from December 1 .
The above statement was made by Karam Shyam to media persons while he along with other important officials were personally inspecting the current state of various Water Supply Projects.
The MLA further informed that 80% of the population in Langthabal AC do not have access to clean drinking water even though there are 4 Water Supply Projects in the AC located at Toupokpi, Canchipur, Haoreibi and Karam.
He cited the low capacity of the water reservoirs and the 80% incomplete distribution pipeline as reasons for this sorry state of affairs.

"With the new projects, water pipelines will be installed and the capacity of water reservoirs will also be increased", he added.
He asserted that once these projects are completed, they will be able to provide clean water to Thongju AC and Keirao AC on top of Langthabal AC.
L Irish, EE Maintenance Division PHED, who was also part of the inspection team stated that the new projects will be a part of the package included in the Manipur Water Supply Project taken up under New Development Bank.
It may be mentioned that Conventional Slow Sand Filter Treatment Plant and Intake Clean Water Ground Reservoir will be included in the new projects.
Further, the construction of these projects will be undertaken by Keystone Infra Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad.
Project Director of KSIPL Ram Krishna declared that work on these projects will commence from December 1 with the goal of achieving completion within a year.
