29 Assam Rifles is located at Joupi, Chandel district, Manipur.
Remote, treacherous, unforgiving terrain, inclement weather are characteristics of the location.

Commanding Officer QRT immediately formed a human chain and with available resources rescued the lady from the gorge.
The Nursing Assistant gave her first aid on the spot.
Instantly she was evacuated to nearest Company Operating Base where she was given timely treatment for her injuries by Medical Officer Asst Comdt N Manoj Singh.
On treatment her condition was normalized and was later referred to Imphal for further treatment.
The act was accoladed by one and all who witnessed the event.
The immediate reaction by Commanding Officer QRT and the medical team with limited resources is testimony to the professional and military zeal of 29 Assam Rifles.
