Imphal, March 24 2018: Assam Rifles has always been in forefront to reach out and extend helping hand to the Veterans as well as Veer Naris and War Widows of gallant soldiers.

Keeping up with this tradition, an Ex-servicemen rally for all War Widows and Veterans residing in the area of responsibility of 26 Sector Assam Rifles was held at Chandel on 23 March 2018.A total of 161 Ex-servicemen of Army/Assam Rifles/War Widows/Veer Naris from Chandel, Pallel, Tengnoupal and Moreh attended the same.

The Chief Guest, Brigadier A S Chauhan, Commander 26 Sector Assam Rifles interacted with War Widows and Ex-servicemen and listened to their grievances.

In addition, a computer, printer and requisite office furniture was presented by Headquarter 26 Sector Assam Rifles on the occasion for upgradation of District Soldier Board Office at Chandel.

It may be recalled that the said District Soldier Board Office was established by 18 Assam Rifles on behalf of Headquarter 26 Sector Assam Rifles in July 2016 .

In the end, the Chief Guest felicitated War Widows/ Veer Naris and assured the gathering of continuous support in the future.

Arrangements like medical checkup, assistance to resolve grievances, awareness of latest welfare policies etc were appreciated by all Veterans who attended this event.
