Imphal, July 23 2024:
The Pambei-led UNLF has investigated the illicit relationship of Warsim Chesam alias Chesam (27) s/o Shirajuddin Chesam of Hatta Golapati after receiving a complaint by its People's Tribunal.
A statement issued by the outfit's media coordinator Charairongba Thokchom informed that the People's Tribunal investigated the case exhaustively for two days from July 21 to 22 .
The People's Tribunal found that Warsim Chesam's unwillingness to take the particular woman as his lawful wife after having physical relationship was the root cause of the case.
Warsim Chesam and the woman had an affair since 2021 and they started having physical relationship.
The woman even disclosed their relationship to Warsim's mother out of love for Warsim.
Even though the woman stood firm for Warsim, he never took the woman's life and dignity with any seriousness and it bred frequent quarrels between the two, the outfit said.
The tribunal's investigation further revealed that Warsim had illicit relation with other women before the present case and he had physical relationship with those women too, the outfit conveyed.
Although the illicit and physical relationships were mutual, such activities challenge the social ethos and belittle women's life and dignity, it said.
It was a serious offence of Warsim to the society, it added.
For his grave offence to the women and the society, the People's Tribunal has decided that Warsim should not ever revive his relationship with the particular woman.
In line with the woman's decision that she no longer has any intention to marry Warsim, the tribunal has granted them permission to stay away from each other.
Warsim has been banned from being a gym instructor from July 24, 2024 till July 24, 2025 for his immoral and scandalous activity.
During this period, the tribunal will monitor his activities.
Moreover, Warsim should not indulge in any anti-social activity hereafter.
If he is found involved in any anti-social activity directly, the party would award him stern punishment, it warned.
The outfit further asked Warsim to come out with a clarification regarding the scandal.
As dictated by her own conscience, the woman did not bargain for her lost dignity and reputation with any monetary compensation from Warsim, it said.
The tribunal's investigation also found that neither the particular gym nor any other trainer were involved in the case, it added.
