Free food for returnees from Bengaluru

Kangpokpi, May 23 2020:
InSIDE North East and Kuki Student's Organisation, Bangalore distributed free food to all Manipuris who are returning to the State due to COVID-19 .
The food distribution was sponsored by Smile Project, (Mercy Mission), a Bangalore based organisation.
Similar food distribution was also organised in Delhi for the 1600 returnees.
Agun Pamei, leader of Rongmai Welfare Association, Bengaluru said, "Everyone is extremely grateful to KSO (Bangalore) and InSIDE North East for such tremendous and appreciable relief work.
May God bless you all" .
Another returnee said, "We are extremely happy that Kukis in Bengaluru under the aegis of Kuki Students' Organization and InSIDE NorthEast took the initiative to help many of the stranded Manipuris in Bengaluru" .
Meanwhile, packed meals and other relief items were distributed in different parts of the State as well.
Tiffin served to 600 returnees
Ramkhuanang, personal assistant to Tamenglong AC MLA Samuel Jendai has stated that the MLA has so far served tiffin to about 600 Manipuris who returned from outside the State.
The service will continue till transportation of the stranded Manipuris is completed, he said and thanked the villagers of Khongsang, Kaikao and Sangrungpang for providing firewood for preparing the food and 143 Bn CRPF and 44 Assam Rifles for providing power generator, chairs and tent to run the relief centre at Khongsang Village on behalf of the MLA.
Food items distributed at Keishampat
Keishampat Thiyam Leikai Development Committee in association with 12 local donors distributed food items to 310 households today.
The food items included potatoes, onions, sugar, tea leaves and edible oil.
Highlight of the distribution programmes that were held on Friday
The Kangvai Batallion of Loktak Brigade extended assistance to the old age home of Kumbi area on May 22.Food items were provided to 25 elderly above 60 years of age who were facing hardship due to the Nationwide lockdown .
Spring Charitable Trust
Executive members of Spring Charitable Trust handed over food items for the inmates of quarantine centre opened at Longmai (Noney) District Headquarters.
The relief items were handed over through District Administration and received by SDO Noney.
JDU
The JD (U), Manipur State Unit Relief Committee led by Limjalet Haokip handed over essential items consisting of rice, dal, onion and edible oil to Hindustani Samaj, Thangal Bazar for distribution to the stranded migrants' workers at Imphal.
Jiribam
Locals of Tousem led by its Vice Chairman, BR Hubilung gifted two truckloads of vegetables for the inmates of different quarantine centres, especially for the CSOs opened at Jiribam.
The vegetables were handed over to the president of Jiri Development Organisation (JDO), N Sadananda.
Kakching
BJP Kakching distributed edibles, drinking water and face masks to quarantine centres opened in the district at Grace Cotton Academy and Victory High School.
Women of Tejpur Makha Leikai and Tejpur Awang Leikai and several individuals and groups also gifted homegrown vegetables and food items to quarantine centres opened in the district.
Andro
Social worker Keisham Ningthemjao also donated face masks, hand sanitizers, hand gloves and soaps to volunteers of community quarantine centres opened for Andro Assembly Constituency.
