Anti-Terrorism Day observed at Senapati, Chandel

To spread the message of peace and humanity on the death anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, (L) Rajiv Gandhi, Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Senapati together with the Mt Everest Hr Sec School, Senapati observed 'Anti-Terrorist Day' at the school on May 21.The programme was attended by Lakshay Sharma, IPS, SDPO, Senapati as the chief guest.
Pung Mark, general secy, Senapati District Students Association (SDSA); Maningba Chawang, finance secy, SDSA; Dr Alexander Pao, ex-MLA and founder president of Mt Everest School; teachers, faculty members, students also attended the event.
Mentioned may be made that the day is observed as a mark of respect to honour (L) Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India who was assassinated in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu in 1991.The purpose of observing 'Anti-Terrorist Day' was to spread the message of global peace, non-violence and to promote unity among people of the country.
Speaking on the topic, "Stand united against terrorism", student leader of the district, Pung Mark said that terrorism cannot be removed by the elected members alone nor by the Govt officials but only through joint efforts of all.
The student leader urged all to join hands in fighting against the act of terrorism in the country while appealing all to report any suspicious thing/people of incident to the law enforcing agency immediately to control the situation.
Speaking as the chief guest, Lakshay Sharma, IPS asked all not to hate anyone in order to remove the feeling of terrorism because 'hatred is one reason for terrorism'.
The SDPO also urged all victims to report to the law enforcing agency to solve and control any crime.
He also said that the youth should indulge in games and sports and take active part in Nation building processes.
Later, the chief guest led the gathering in administering anti-terrorism pledge on the occasion.
Chandel: As observed all over the country, the District Administration, Chandel observed Anti-Terrorism Day at the DC complex, Chandel on May 21.The event was attended by ADC Moreh, M Rajkumar; SDO Chandel, Loktongbam Leander; DLOs and officials of the district.
Deputy Commissioner, Chandel, Krishna Kumar administered the anti-terrorism pledge to the officials present to oppose all forms of terrorism and violence.
They pledged to promote peace, social harmony and understanding among all fellow human beings.
