Imphal, February 23 2017:
National Students Union of India (NSUI) has stated that it will urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi to bare the contents of the Framework Agreement during his scheduled visit to the State.
Speaking to media persons at the Union's office inside Congress Bhavan, the Union's Manipur State president P Bankimchandra expressed suspicion over the contents of the Framework Agreement pointing to the Central Government's secretiveness with the whole issue.
He said, "Even though many Union Ministers came to the State in the past, none of them have uttered any word regarding the contents of the Agreement.
It is not right to bring harm to one community for the interest of another".
Bankimchandra pointed out that the Union would submit a memorandum to Narendra Modi during his visit to the State on February 25, demanding clarification of the Framework Agreement's content.
On the other hand, Bankimchandra expressed gratitude at the election manifesto of the Congress party, namely point number three which promises jobs for 3 lakh people if the party forms the Government and point number four which promises to build a Higher Secondary School in every Assembly Constituency and to upgrade every schools and colleges in the State by the year 2020 and improve the literacy rate of the State.
