Prevent community spread, learn to live with COVID, urges Nemcha Kipgen

COVID-19 district Minister-in-charge of Senapati and Kangpokpi Nemcha Kipgen urged the people of Senapati to prevent community spread of the disease in the district.
The review meeting chaired by the Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister was held at the new Conference Hall, DC office Senapati with District Level Officers, under the leadership of newly posted Deputy Commissioner, Th Kirankumar, IAS, the District Medical Department, District Police and various civil society organizations, in the presence of District Nodal Officer for COVID-19, Harekrishna, IAS.
At the outset, the Minister welcomed the newly posted Deputy Commissioner, Th Kirankumar, before taking stock of the situation.
DC Th Kirankumar presented a PowerPoint demonstration on how the district has been combating the pandemic, saving lives, changing lifestyle and livelihood, in collaboration with various CSOs including frontal organizations, student bodies, Churches, village authorities, etc.
While appreciating the efforts of the frontline workers, Nemcha Kipgen exhorted them to spread awareness in the district through all available means.
The Minister also emphasised and urged people of Senapati to learn to live with the virus.
Nemcha also exhorted the people not to discriminate against people who have been infected by the novel virus.
She also instructed the District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner to regulate appropriate law(s) to take befitting action against those indulged in discriminating COVID-19 positive patients and their families.
She also advised the people to drink boiled water at least four times a day, gargle with salt water and strictly follow the World Health Organization and Indian Council of Medical Research guidelines.
Meanwhile, Nemcha Kipgen strongly emphasised on the recently launched Nasha Mukh Campaign or 'elimination of drug' on India's Independence Day under her Department, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, and exhorted the people, especially CSOs to take part in the fight against drugs and substance abuse.
Harekrishna, IAS maintained that as perpetual lockdown is not possible, Manipur may begin her first unlock likely by September.
Nemcha also handed over hypochlorite, gloves, masks, sanitizers, etc for the frontline workers at Mao gate and for the frontline workers of the district.
