Imphal, August 21 2012:
Home Minister Gaikhangam who is also holding the additional portfolio of Tribal Affairs and Hills has called upon all the people of the State to prepare so that they are not reduced to the status of refugees or beggars in their own State.
Gaikhangam made this statement after launching a new website of the Tribal Research Institute at his Secretariat office this afternoon.
The next most eminent battle for mankind would be about economic warfare.
"To fight this battle successfully, all of them must prepare and make ourselves and our State economically self-reliant", Gaikhangam exhorted.
Stating the Tribal Research Institute would evolve into a treasure trove of knowledge for future researchers, Gaikhangam also highlighted the importance of understanding ancestral traditions and customs.
He said that more funds would be incorporated in the State budget next year for the institute, provided economic condition of the State is favourable.
Many tribal MLAs were also present at the launching function of the website www.trimanipur.com designed by Cube Ten.
