Senapati, March 21 2016: Kangpokpi AC MLA Nemcha Kipgen today inaugurated the first distribution of the District Disaster Response Fund in the State at Kangpokpi, reports our correspondent.

The first instalment cheques of the District Disaster Response Fund were distributed to the beneficiaries of Kangpokpi and T Tuinom village in the presence of DK Thangboi Haokip, Additional DC, Sadar Hills, Kaigoulal Kipgen, SDC (HQ), ADC, Kangpokpi.

Altogether, 32 beneficiaries whose houses were affected in January 4 earthquake were given a cheque of Rs 25,000 each.

The District Disaster Response Fund distribution will be held for the beneficiaries under Kalapahar, Gopibung and Santolabari Parsian on March 28 at Parsian Nepali village and beneficiaries under Poudel Basti, Gorkha Tapon, Lamchok and Makui Gorkha on March 29 at ADC office, Kangpokpi while the distribution for other beneficiaries under Taphou Kuki, Toribari and Lungphou Nepali will be held on March 30 at Toribari.

The local MLA appreciated the relentless efforts of the district administration including Senapati DC, Additional DC, Sadar Hills and SDC (HQ), ADC, Kangpokpi for the accurate assessment of the earthquake victims in Kangpokpi AC.

The MLA urged the beneficiaries to utilize the fund accordingly.
