Imphal, December 19 2024: Close on the heels of Chief Minister N Biren's disclosure that the State's cyber crime unit has failed, police have pulled up three administrators of Manipur News Group 2024, a Facebook page for allegedly posting abusive and threatening contents targeting Chief Minister N Biren and his Council of Ministers.

The arrested persons have been identified as Ningombam Dingku (22) s/o N Nando of Lairongthem Mayai Leikai, Malemnganba Leithangbam alias Malem (21) s/o Tomba of Kwakeithel Makha Thokchom Leikai Heinoukhongnembi and Thongam Romen alias Naoba (39) s/o (L) Ganga of Keirak Mayai Leikai, sources said.

They were arrested on Wednesday.

The arrested administrators of the Facebook page were produced before the Court of a Duty Magistrate, Imphal West by a team of Imphal police station along with prayer for police custody remand.

The Court, on perusal of the case record and after hearing the submission of the IO, remanded them to police custody till December 23, said the sources.
