SheChef competition concludes

Ukhrul, October 19 2019: The finale of SheChef 2019 was conducted successfully today at TNL Ground, Ukhrul.

Todays' theme of the competition was held on "Childhood Memories" and the contestants have to prepare a dish associated with their childhood memories.

The contestants prepared indigenous dishes like Chagem (porridge) and dishes based on mushroom, banana/plantain stem and yam, added with meat.

As usual, the cooking went on for an hour followed by the judging round.

Contestants themselves admitted enjoying today's round instead of being tensed, because they were reminiscing about their beloved family members as they were cooking.

The judges also equally enjoyed the food and the stories behind each dish.

Although, all the contestants performed well in the entire duration of the competition, only the top three contestants were awarded.

The first position was bagged by contestant no 3, Yurrinchon Keishing (20) while the second and third position were awarded to contestant no 4, Hoinu Tubung (19) and contestant no 5, Zingyatphi Hungyo (22) respectively.

During the official closing ceremony of the festival at TNL Ground, Ukhrul, the contestants were presented their winning and consolation prizes along with certificates by the chief guest of the ceremony, Governor Dr Najma Heptulla.
