UNC, ANSAM convey thanks

Imphal, June 19 2012: The United Naga Council (UNC) and All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) acknowledged with appreciation the cooperation and solidarity of the general public in making the 48 hours total bandh a success which also sent a clear and successful message to the world that the Nagas are not happy with the lack of sincerity and political will on the part of the Government of India and the Government of Manipur in taking forward the democratic process of dialogue on the demand for alternative arrangement outside the Government of Manipur.

Astatement issued by the publicity wing of the UNC and ANSAM also congratulated the tribe Hohos, Regional organisations and the constituent units of the ANSAM for effectively enforcing the total bandh in their respective jurisdictions.

"We are aware that the 48 hours total bandh had affected the observation of "Father's Day" in churches and families all over the state and had also inconvenienced a lot of people whose scheduled programmes had fallen within the bandh period," the statement said.
