Imphal, December 18 2016: BJP, Manipur Pradesh has appealed to all the citizens of the State to maintain peace and harmony.

BJP, Manipur Pradesh condemns violence and does not support any perpetrators involved in committing any violent act, said a statement issued by State party president K Bhabananda.

Appealing to leaders of all the organisations to help in maintaining peace in the State and bring an amicable solution to the issue at hand, the statement said that the party believes that differences and issues can be resolved through peaceful dialogue which should be adopted for the benefits of the people of Manipur.

It also said that BJP is committed to towards maintaining peace and prosperity.

As such, leaders of organisations and citizens concerned can approach the BJP so as to resolve the issues without causing further inconvenience to the people.

K Bhabananda said that Ibobi-led State Government instead of restoring peace has further escalated the tense situation prevailing in the State.

"We strongly condemn the attitude of the State Government which has widened the gap among the communities of the State.

Politicising the issue during this sensitive time is against the interest of the people.

We request the State Government to act swiftly and restore normalcy," he added.
