COVID-19 claims 10 lives in last 72 hours

Imphal, November 18 2020:
Ten persons succumbed to COVID-19 in the last 72 hours taking the State's death toll to 231 while the total number of positive cases has reached 22,318 with 447 fresh infections in the last three days, according to reports of COVID-19 Common Control Room.
In the last 24 hours, the State recorded 6 deaths due to COVID-19 .
The six victims include four men from Imphal East, one 27-year-old, 52-year-old, 56-year-old and a 77-year-old.The other two were one 75-year-old woman from Imphal West and another 75-year-old woman from Thoubal.
One of them died at Shija Hospital, two at Raj Medicity and three at RIMS.
According to the November 17 report of the COVID-19 Common Control Room, one 53-year-old man from Imphal East died due to COVID-19 at Raj Medicity while the State recorded 159 fresh COVID-19 cases.
On November 16, there were three deaths with 178 fresh COVID-19 infections.
The three victims include one 59-year-old man and a 90-year-old man from Imphal West district and a 64-year-old man from Churachandpur district.
All of them died at RIMS.
Meanwhile, the report of the COVID-19 Common Control Room issued by Additional Director Health, Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang today, said 110 persons including 3 personnel of the Central Armed Police Force tested positive for COVID-19 .
The 107 civilian cases excluding the 3 CAPF personnel hail from Imphal West (37), Imphal East (16), Thoubal (7), Kakching (15), Tamenglong (9), Bishnupur (6), Chandel (6), Churachandpur (3), Kangpokpi (3), Ukhrul (2), Tengnoupal (1), Jiribam (1) and Senapati (1) .
All of them have no significant travel history and necessary medical precautionary measures are in place.
They have been shifted to COVID-19 Care Centres, said the report.
In the last 24 hours, as many as 194 persons recovered from COVID-19.153 of them recovered while under home isolation.
The remaining recovered patients have been discharged from COVID-19 Care Centres at CAPF (2), LKK (13), LANVA (1), UNACCO (7), RD Wing (6), Thoubal (7), Lamding (2) and Kangpokpi (3) .
The cumulative number of COVID-19 positive cases has reached 22318 including 19401 civilians and 2917 Central security personnel.
The total number of recovered cases has climbed to 19259 including 16556 civilians and 2703 security personnel.
The number of active cases is 2828 including 2618 civilians and 210 security personnel.
The recovery rate stands at 86.29 percent, said the report.
