SHDDC meet Delhi leaders

With November month already into the latter part of the second week and apprehensive of whether the MoU that has been agreed with Chief Minister O Ibobi, leaders of the SHDDC are once again camping in Delhi.
The 5 member delegate of the SHDDC met the Union Home Minister today evening.
The intention of coming to meet the Central leaders is to make sure that the agreements in the MoU are carried out within the stipulated time said the SHDDC delegates as the promised district reorganization report that is expected to come out in 3 months is ending on November 23 and that the sub-divisions will be inaugurated within November.
SHDDC secretary Tonghen Kipgen said "Sub divisions are not our main concern, but we want to be compensated for the 40 years of denial of districthood." The Secretary added "Creating sub divisions that were promised to be inaugurated within November therefore was requested as a compensation.
We have been deprived in various ways" .

The apprehensive SHDDC delegates further asserted that the present scenario is "Wait and watch" over the promise of granting district status to Sadar Hills by the Chief Minister once the re-organization committee submits its report.
During a one hour meeting with the SHDDC delegates, the Union Home Minister told the delegates that action will be taken up if the State Government does not act after the 3 months district reorganization reports is completed.
He also informed them he would take up the matter with the State CM who is arriving today in Delhi.
Reportedly the SHDDC also called upon Rahul Gandhi and other officials in the Ministry.
The SHDDC called off its economic blockade after the MoU was signed on Oct 31, ending a three month siege.
