House passes six demands

After due deliberation, the State Assembly today passed six demands.
Demand No 7 for police, Demand No 24 for Vigilance, Demand No 31 for fire protection and control, Demand No 32 for Jail , Demand No 33 for Home Guard and Demand No 34 for Rehabilitation were passed by the State Assembly.
In the process of discussing the demands, Home Minister Gaikhangam admitted that VDFs have been demanding money from even school/college going students.
Nonetheless, superior police officers have been instructed to control such condescending behaviour of VDF personnel.
Work on establishment of a counter insurgency and anti-terrorist school at Jiribam has been initiated.
To declare NSCN-IM as an unlawful organisation is within the purview of the Government of India.
There is no harm in urging the Government of India to declare NSCN-IM as an unlawful organisation.
Police personnel's habit of howling and shouting has come down considerably.
Efforts are on to instill grea-ter discipline in Manipur Police under Assam Police Manual, Gaikhangam stated.
Chief Minister O Ibobi stated that the Government has no authority to interfere in the Vigilance Commission headed by the Chief Secretary as Chairman.
Responding to a policy cut motion raised by Dr Ibohalbi regarding deduction of six days' wages from the wage of MGNREGS job card holders of Bishnu-pur by Birla Sunlife Insu- rance Company, Ibobi stated that Vigilance has submitted its investigation report.
If any body is found guilty whether they be Government officials or officials of the company, they would not be let off and befitting action would be initiated under the Personal Liability Act.
