Thoubal, February 18 2025: A mass protest demonstration was held at Langathel and Langthabal Khonou in Thoubal district on Monday demanding the lifting of the President's Rule and immediate formation of a new Govt in the State.

Speaking at the protest held at different location, Langathel Meira Paibi leader Sagolsem Sakuntala and Langthabal Khunou Apunba Meira Paibi, secretary Binita called for an end to the ongoing political turmoil in the State following the resignation of Chief Minister N Biren Singh.

"Amid the crisis in the State, the power struggle by the leaders is totally unacceptable.

Instead they should prioritise solving the current crisis in the State by forming a new Govt" they asserted, while also demanding the lifting of the President's Rule in the State.

The protesters also called for cessation of security forces operation to arrest village volunteers.
