Imphal, January 18 2017:
NSCN-IM has alleged that the killing of Dikhuanang Gonmei s/o Tajimang Gonmei and injuring of Jacky Kamei, Thuanilung Kamei and Nipen Kalita on January 12 at Khumji (Lukhambi) village were committed by Manipur State security forces.
The outfit, after painstaking investigation, came to the conclusion that the crime was committed by Manipur commandos, said a press release issued by the outfit's MIP.
The commandos came in camouflage uniform speaking indistinct accent of Nagamese and fired indiscriminately upon the innocent travellers to project it as if it was done by NSCN-IM cadres, it alleged.
The highway from Imphal to Jiribam was already sanitized and strictly guarded by both the State and Indian armed forces where penetration of other forces was impossible.
To whitewash their crime after the shooting, operation was carried out by the commandos themselves thereby projecting that others were responsible for the shooting, it said.
NSCN-IM also strongly condemned the State Government led by Ibobi for allegedly giving free hand to commandos to commit heinous crime which has no place in a civilized society.
Till today, no action has been taken up against the guilty commandos by the State Government.
"If such trend continues on the Nagas, NSCN-IM would no longer tolerate but will defend our people and land with all available resources", it added.
