JCILPS lines up bandh

Imphal, December 17 2012:
The Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) has announced a bandh in greater Imphal on December 20, the second day of the Manipur Assembly Session in protest against the the non-compliance of the July 13 resolution of the Assembly to implement Inner Line Permit in the State.
The Committee also registered its protest over the failure of the Union Home Minister to respond to the numerous intimation.
The JCILPS today said that it had withdrawn its decision to start implementing the ILP from November 18 following the appeal from the State Government to wait till the Chief Minister who was out of station at the time, returned back to the state.
Even after the chief minister had returned, no move has come forth from the state government, alleged the Committee.
Meanwhile, on December 20, hunger striker will be carried out by the members of JCILPS from 9 am till 3 pm and the bandh will be enforced from 4 am to 6 pm in the markets of Khwairambandh, Singjamei, Kwakeithel, Lamphel, Konung Mamang, Khurai and Tera.
