IBSD launches weekly webinar series on COVID-19

Imphal, May 17 2020: Department of Biotechnology, Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (DBT-IBSD) and Society for Ethnopharmacology (SFE) have launched a weekly webinar series with a focus on COVID -19 .

"This unprecedented situation has forced us to see the world from a completely novel perspective where staying home, physical distancing and digital collaborations are the new normal.

During this COVID-19 pandemic, DBT-IBSD, India is determined to contribute to the society through an integrated and synergistic approach by leveraging the digital platform," said a press release issued by DBT-IBSD.

Saying that the department thrives to achieve its objectives through multidisciplinary research approach for promotion and development of bioresources including natural flora and fauna, ethnopharmacology, traditional medicine and natural products, it added that SFE-India is also committed to globalization of local knowledge and localization of global technology in the research and development of ethnopharmacology and ethnomedicine.

IBSD and SFE-India have come together to launch a weekly webinar series with the leadership of Prof Pulok K Mukherjee, Director of the IBSD at Imphal, Mizoram, Sikkim, Meghalaya, it said and maintained that the first webinar was held on May 9 last.
