Imphal, February 17 2025: A 40-year-old man and his 80-year-old father allegedly sexually assaulted a minor girl in Imphal West district in October last year.

The accused have been identified as Chongtham Sobha Singh and his father Chongtham Sakyai.

Chongtham Sobha has been remanded to police custody till February 20 .

A complaint lodged by the family of the minor victim before the Women Police Station Imphal West alleged the father and son duo sexually assaulted the minor in October last year.

The minor girl revealed the incident to her family on February 13, afterwhich the complaint was filed.

While the involvement of the 80-year-old is under investigation, Imphal West Women Police arrested his son, Chongtham Sobha Singh on February 16 and he was produced before the Special Court POCSO Imphal West today (February 17) .

Before the Court, the Special PP submitted that the accused had admitted to committing the offence.

The Court after hearing the submissions of the Special PP and on perusal of the case record, remanded the accused to police custody till February 20 .
