Imphal, January 17 2021: It is high time the books written by Manipuri author, especially books on Puya and history, are reviewed by a team of scholars appointed by the Government, said W Ibohal, Director, Manipur Tourism Department.

He said this at the book release programme of a book titled 'Nungthhel Leima Tollomkhombada Thajaba' written by Naoroibam Khamba and organised by Patriotic Writers Forum at Ibudhdu Marjing Khubam Ching at Heingang.

W Ibohal added that books written on Puya and history are quite different from other genres including poems, novels or short stories, and added that there is the need for books on Puya and history to be reviewed by a team of scholars appointed by the Government.

The book release programme was attended by Yaiskul Khwairakpam, president of Patriotic Writers Forum; Ngathem Rabeichandra, former editor of 'Ngaklou' magazine; Konjengbam Jayenta, Pradhan, Heingang Gram Panchayat and Dr Sagolsem Lanchenba Meitei as presidium members.
