KYKL, KCP forge new alliance

Imphal, October 16 2015 :
KYKL and KCP have formed a new alliance called the Alliance for Socialist Unity, Kangleipak (ASUK) with the primary objectives of heralding a united revolutionary movement of WESEA, spread the ideology and principle of egalitarian society and bring unity among all socialists of Kangleipak.
A statement signed by KYKL chairman N Oken and KCP president Ksh Laba appealed to all revolutionary groups to support ASUK's campaign to forge unity among all revolutionary groups based on scientific socialism.
One of the biggest problems faced by the revolutionary movement of Kangleipak at present is failure at organisational level, presence of too many revolutionary groups, lack of unity, fragmentation of revolutionary groups at regular intervals, failure to unite and inability to consolidate, even if somehow united.
One fundamental reason for the failure of revolutionary groups to achieve lasting union is forging alliance based on ad-hocism and temporary benefits rather than adopting any well defined theory of unification.
Revolutionary leaders of WESEA seemed not very committed to explore appropriate theories of unification.
Another major problem dogging the revolutionary movement is deviation from the ideal path by revolutionary leaders and cadres alike.
Rather than fighting against all kinds of ills plaguing the society, revolutionary cadres have given in to the malignant social practices.
Eventually, revolutionary groups have been taking the form of officers' club.
Even though that the organisations were set up for the masses and their movements are for the people, many revolutionary groups have been oppressing the masses just like colonial rulers.
This deviation from the rightful path is another factor responsible for the failure to forge a lasting alliance.
Until and unless there is a complete overhaul of the existing revolutionary movements of Kangleipak and WESEA, the society as well as the revolutionary movement will break down further.
The situation demands a revolution within the revolution.
Any superficial changes would not suffice.
The campaign to bring noticeable changes to the revolutionary movement should be a revolution in itself, Oken and Laba asserted.
All revolutionaries need to re-commit themselves to revolutionary socialism in order to lay a strong foundation for the future of the masses.
Revolutionaries can build an organic relationship with the masses only when they (revolutionaries) behave like genuine socialists.
A strong foundation for unification of revolutionary groups can be laid only when revolutionary leaders and cadres give up all thoughts of self-centrism.
Another major obstacle on the path of unification of revolutionary groups of WESEA is the aspirations of some communities and their leaders which are based on their proud legacy of history and who could not see the contemporary political reality.
Failure to interpret history in the contemporary context is a big handicap on the part of the revolutionaries and this is an indication of inadequate analysis of historical dialectics.
The audacity on the part of revolutionaries to see his own men as adversaries at the influence of some civilians and in their efforts to obtain some material benefits from the alien rule is another formidable obstacle on the path to unification.
Only 'ethnic democracy' where all ethnic groups respect each other and live as equals should be the primary framework for unity.
Separate or fragmented revolutionary movements can never bring freedom and this has been testified by the history of revolutionary movements seen in WESEA during the past 60/70 years.
Any movement which opposes a united struggle of WESEA should not be seen as a genuine revolutionary movement, the two rebel leaders concluded.
