Decks cleared for June 18 observance

Decks have been cleared for the 'Great June Uprising Day' observance at Kekrupat under the aegis of United Committee Manipur (UCM) on June 18 .
UCM President, Y Nabachandra has appealed the public to participate in the observance programme.
Speaking to the media at its office located at Lamphelpat, the UCM President said the Great June Uprising Day has been observed every year since 2002 to pay tributes to the souls who sacrificed their lives for the protection of the State territorial integrity.
Stating that preparation for the 11th Great June Uprising Day observance has been done, the UCM president urged all concerned to take part in the event which would start from 5am of June 18 .

The day would be marked by offering of floral tributes to the portraits of the departed souls with riligious rites, a public meeting and blood donation camp.
He said Manipuri diaspora delegates from Bangladesh, Tripura, Cachar, Meghalaya and Dimapur would attend the meeting.
The UCM president also conveyed gratitude to the Government departments, civil societies and individuals for sanitising Kekrupat in connection with the Great June Uprising Day.
