Sit-in staged against bomb threat

Imphal, December 01 2015: Protesting the planting of a hand grenade at the residence of Impact TV Editor-in-chief Yumnam Rupachandra by unknown persons yesterday, Singjamei Khongnang Pheidekpi Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, staged a sit-in-protest at its Meira Shang today.

A hand grenade was found hanging at the gate of the Editor-in-chief at around 7.30 pm yesterday, one protester told media persons at the sidelines of the protest.

Nobody will support creating fear psychosis by planting bombs in areas thickly populated by civilians.

The explosive could have resulted in terrible consequences had it gone off, the protester said.

Urging adoption of a dialogue to clear misunderstandings, the protester further appealed individuals/groups concerned to refrain from such activities which may disturb public tranquillity in the future.

Friends Union Club, Singjamei has also condemned the bomb threat.

It has appealed individuals/ groups concerned not to repeat such activities in the future.
