PAC suspends bandh, demands justice by Jul 20

People Action Committee (PAC) formed against the killing of Soram Prakreet has threatened to launch different forms of intense agitation from July 21 if justice is not delivered by deliberating the matter in the the ongoing Assembly session within July 20 .
PAC Convenor T Raju said that the Government has failed to give any positive response to people's demand for arrest of Prakreet's killers.
However, in view of the inconvenience being faced by the general public, the PAC has decided to suspend the indefinite Uripok area bandh with effect from 6 pm today.
However, the PAC would impose public curfew in Uripok AC during night time with effect from 7 pm today.

T Raju said that Prakreet was abandoned dead on an inter-village road connecting Sangakpham and Kairang.
His body bore several bruise marks which indicated that Prakreet was brutally beaten to death by some persons, Raju added.
T Raju said that Prakreet's family submitted a written request to Imphal East SP to provide a copy of post mortem report.
However, the SP had turned down the request, Raju added.
Soram Prakreet (38) s/o Tiken of Uripok Sorbon Thingel was found murdered on June 6 after he went out of his house on June 4 .
He is survived by a son and a daughter.
