Imphal, November 14 2013:
The first flight of Golden Myanmar Airlines which would bring official delegates and cultural troupes to Imphal on November 21 would fly more than 100 passengers from Manipur to Mandalay on its return flight.
Kunjabihari, proprietor of KB Enterprises which took active roles in introducing flight service between Imphal and Mandalay said that the inaugural flight is a chartered flight.
Nonetheless, maximum efforts are being put in to introduce regular flight service between the two cities.
The inaugural flight would also bring officials of Golden Myanmar Airlines who would do a market survey at Imphal.
The passengers who would leave Imphal for Mandalay on November 21 would be flown back to Imphal on November 24 .
The same aircraft would take back Myanmarese delegation and cultural troupes on its return flight.
KB Enterprises has deposited US $ 30,000 with Golden Myanmar Airlines for the inaugural chartered flight, Kunjabihari said.
The air fare would come down when there is regular flight service between Imphal and Mandalay.
Flight service between the two cities is being introduced in the form of chartered flight in order to ensure that it can keep its date with the Manipur Sangai Tourism Festival 2013 .
The agency (KB Enterprises) went to Myanmar and persuaded the Golden Myanmar Airlines officials that the most convenient and shortest route for Myanmarese tourists to visit India is through Manipur.
Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Gautam Mukhopadhay, Consulate General Madan Mohan Seth Councillor Sailash Thangal, Chief Minister O Ibobi and Principal Secretary O Nabakishore took pivotal roles in all the efforts towards materialising flight service between Imphal and Mandalay.
