Imphal, May 14 2013:
Stating that there is a quota backlog of 474 posts of Constables in Police Department purportedly on account of ineligibility among ST candidates in the last recruitment held in 2008 and another backlog of 28 posts in Manipur Police Housing Corporation Limited, the Kuki Students' Organisation has urged the State Government to fill up the backlog of 474 posts separately, independent of the quota already allocated for the STs in the ensuing recruitment process for 2000 numbers of Constables.
In a memorandum submitted to Chief Minister O Ibobi today, KSO Ghqs asked the concerned authority to substantiate the reason as to how such huge backlog of post existed.
It further asked the concerned authorities if they have initiated any action to fill up these posts of 474 Constables in Manipur Police department and 28 varied posts in MPHC Limited.
Another query put forward through the memorandum is, how many posts have been allocated for ST candidates in the current recruitment, not counting the backlog of 474 posts which were left unfulfilled during the recruitment process of 2008 .
