SFs rescue abducted truck crew

Imphal, June 13 2022:
Three crew members of a truck who were abducted by some unknown persons from a place of Keithelmanbi (NH-2), Kangpokpi district have been rescued by a combined team of Manipur Police and Assam Rifles.
Sources informed that three crew members of a truck which was transporting edible items from Guwahati to Imphal were abducted by some unknown persons from Keithelmabi early this morning.
On receiving information about the abduction, Special Commando Unit of Manipur Police, Kangpokpi District Police and troops of 44 Assam Rifles launched an extensive search operation starting from 5 am.
At around 5.30 am, the abductors left the transporters at Teijeng Veng, Keithelmanbi before disappearing into the nearby hills.
The rescued crew members of the truck have been identified as Md Anwar (37) from Turtipur village, Uttar Pradesh, Tauseef from the same village and Md Kaleem from Hindupura Khera, Uttar Pradesh.
Md Anwar is said to the be the driver of the truck.
All three of them have been brought to Imphal along with the truck while a case has been registered at Kangpokpi police station in connection with the incident.
