Imphal, March 13 2016:
MLA
Laishom Ibomcha has asserted
that he would not withdraw the
FIR lodged against Nagaland
Chief Minister TR Zeliang.
Speaking at a felicitation
function of distinguished per-
sonalities held at his
Keishamthong Laishom
Leirak residence this evening,
Ibomcha said that he has
come across many threats and
offensive statements made by
different elements on several
social networking sites.
He maintained that TR
Zeliang's statement was so
offensive and provocative that
he was constrained to lodge
the FIR.
If the matter reaches the
Election Commission of In-
dia, he may face problems to
contest even elections, said
Ibomcha.
If he commits the blunder
of visiting Manipur again, he
would be arrested, Ibomcha
said.
However, if one examines
the clarifications made by TR
Zeliang recently, it appears
has retracted certain steps.
After he lodged complaints
with police against what TR
Zeliang stated during Lui-
Ngai-Ni celebration at
Ukhrul, some organisations
declared hat MLA Ibomcha would not be allowed to visit Naga areas.
Nonetheless, Ibomcha maintained that he would still visit
Naga areas and welcome all those organisations when they
visit Imphal.
Earlier, the MLA presented gifts to Manipur University of
Culture Vice Chancellor Prof N Khagendra, Registrar L
Joychandra, Padmasree Dr Bimola, social activist L
Saratchandra, Kangla Pao Chief Editor P Ibochou and Na-
tional awardee Yumlembam Ibomcha.
