It may be noted that villagers fleeing Kwatha Khunou due to the ongoing conflict are currently seeking shelter at Kwatha Khunjao.
On top of an assortment of medicines, Bijoy Koijam also handed over 8 table tennis racquets, 180 exercise books, 40 school bags and 3 cartons of biscuits for the children.

Three LPG cylinders and stoves were provided to three families who are currently seeking shelter at the Key Location Point (KLP) along the Imphal-Moreh Road.
In a telephonic conversation with The Sangai Express, Bijoy Koijam shared that the villagers had expressed their need for a personal computer set, a projector, woodworking and agricultural equipment.
They want to cultivate crops like avocado, litchi and black pepper which are suited to warm climates.
They have also appealed the Government to help improve their economic condition and provide them with a means of livelihood.
Further, the villagers want a pond to be dug to preserve and rear indigenous fishes, said Bijoy Koijam.
Around ninety households settled at Kwatha Khunjao have empty LPG cylinders and no means to refill them, he added.
On the other hand, the villagers have access to rice only through the Assam Rifles.
To travel from Kwatha to Pallel, they have to take a lift on an AR vehicle.
Highlighting the difficulties in transportation, the former Minister stressed on the need to provide these villagers with a means to travel from Pallel to Imphal safely at least once a week.
