Condemn burning of house

Imphal, December 11 2017:
The Thadou Students' Association, General Headquarters (TSA-GHQ) strongly condemns the burning of the house of Shri Lhunkhomang Baite by unknown miscreants on December 7.Mention may be made that Lhunkhomang was reportedly arrested by the police in connection with the 5th May, 2017 Sugnu double murder case and released recently.
In the meantime, TSA-GHQ is seriously concerned that no arrest has been made in connection with the murder of 21-year-old Miss Cicilia Nengkhokim Haokip, who was found brutally murdered at Muoltinchan Village Road Junction near Sugnu on May 5 after being allegedly gang-raped.
A Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Joint Action Committee and the Government representatives, including the local (Chandel) MLA, who is also the Minister for WR & YAS, on May 6 assured justice in the case, however justice still eludes.
It has emerged that the case has been transferred from Sugnu Police to Kakching Police, but this has not yielded any significant progress in finding justice.
We wonder why the police have not made any arrest so far in connection with this heinous crime.
There is a growing suspicion that there is a deep conspiracy.
Should the authority not act expeditiously and bring justice without any further delay, there is potential public outrage.
Given the increasing victim's family and public disaffection due to the delaying of justice, we deem it necessary for the case to be investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for speedy justice without any further delay.
In light of this, we fervently appeal the government to deliver justice at the earliest, otherwise we may be compelled to resort to agitation for justice, which is non-negotiable.
