Kipgen's prayer session

Prayer session for retired IGP N Kipgen who would be contesting in the next Assembly elections from Kangpokpi Assembly constituency was held today at Liyai Kongpao village and Yaikongpao village.
The next Assembly elections have been tentatively scheduled to be held in February next year.
Speaking at the twin prayer sessions, N Kipgen said that he would be contesting the elections not because he wants money or fame.
He said that he would be contesting the elections to mingle together with the people, and share their woes and happiness.
At Liyai Kongpao village, Kangpokpi Area Paomei Naga Union judge S Law C said that a popular representative can be elected from Kangpokpi AC if the Almighty wishes so.
He said that former MLAs Kishore Thapa and LS John as well as the incumbent MLA Thangminlen Kipgen did nothing worth mentioning for
the people.
Saying that people of Kangpokpi AC have been yearning for development, he wished that N Kipgen may get Congress ticket.
He also appealed to all members of the Kangpokpi Area Paomei Naga Union to vote for Kipgen.
He also noted the underdeveloped infrastructure of the area like absence of water supply schemes, good roads, schools etc.
At Yaikongpao, Thangal Union general secretary M John said that a capable leader is required to restore amity and cordiality among different communities who have been divided by narrow outlooks.
At this juncture, it is quite timely for N Kipgen to come out for the people, John said.
