Imphal, April 11 2017:
Saluting all those who have laid down their lives in the course of the 'liberation movement,' RPF and its armed wing PLA said that as in the past years, Martyrs' Day will be observed on April 13 .
The outfit also extended its greetings to all those who have been widowed, orphaned, maimed in the excesses committed by the security personnel.
In a statement, the outfit said that after Manipur was annexed into the Indian Union, the people have been forced to lead a life of dependency due to the machinations of the alien rulers in cahoots with some 'traitors' of the land.
Due to such a policy being pursued by the alien rule, a certain mindset has come to grip some section of the people that they cannot survive if they are not dependent on India, said the outfit in the statement.
Asserting that the people have been subjugated for over 60 years, the outfit said that after the political sovereignty of the place was forcibly taken over by the 'Delhi bandits', the people have been subjected to such a state that they cannot stand on their own.
The struggle launched by the RPF and its armed wing PLA can become a reality only when people sacrifice more and give more teeth to the movement, said the statement and added that only sovereignty can save the land from oblivion.
Stating that a drug war has been launched in the place to make all the males drug dependent, RPF said that it is important for everyone to keep a sharp vigil against such an onslaught and defeat the drug war.
Such a victory can be achieved by supporting and strengthening the liberation movement, claimed the outfit.
Even though the martyrs of the land took the liberation movement to a new height, impostors and cowards have surrendered in the name of revolutionaries and have joined hands with the common enemy to dilute the liberation movement and delay the ultimate goal of the liberation movement, claimed RPF.
However RPF and PLA will continue with the liberation movement and will always stand by the people and the land, said the statement.
It is with the support of the people that the RPF has been able to defeat the security personnel in so many confrontations and battles, it added.
The outfit appealed to the people to pay their respects to the martyrs by lighting a lamp each at the gate of their residences and to desist from organising any entertainment programmes on April 13 .
