Imphal, February 09 2020:
Since BJP came to power at the Centre and the State, the whole country including Manipur has been facing a financial crisis, and as a result, all development works have been going in reverse gear, asserted Congress MLA AK Mirabai.
She was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of a newly constructed community hall at Takyel Khongbal Khumanthem Leikai today.
Mirabai said that apart from the many critical issues which have been plaguing the country, the whole country is also facing serious financial crisis.
As the State's financial situation is in a very bad shape, the State Government is unable to take forward any development activity.
On the contrary, all development activities are going in reverse gear, said the Congress MLA.
Government employees are poised to launch sustained agitation as the State Government has failed to implement the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission.
Even though BJP has been making impressive speeches, they could not take up a single significant development project during the past three years, Mirabai said.
Although BJP has been publicly criticising the previous Government, it is the previous Congress Government which has been saving the BJP-led coalition Government's face, she claimed.
As the financial crisis hit Government is unable to release funds in time, MLAs are unable to take up welfare programmes or development projects, she decried.
Though highly unpopular, BJP has forcibly enforced the CAA 2019.Although ILPS has been extended to Manipur, the State Government has not yet examined whether ILPS can effectively protect indigenous people of the State, she remarked.
Takyel Zilla Parishad former Member A Manimala, Kangleipak Youth Social Progressive Association president N Bhubon and many members of Patsoi Block Congress Committee attended the inaugural function.
