Proposals invited for Padma Awards

Imphal, August 08 2023: The Government of Manipur has invited proposals from eligible persons for the Padma Awards, namely, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri along with relevant details specified in the format available in the website https://awards.gov.in.

The online nominations/ recommendations for the Padma Awards began from May 1, 2023 and the last date for nominations has been fixed on September 15, 2023 .

The notification has informed that the cut-off date should be strictly adhered to as nominations/recommendations received only during May 1, 2023 to September 1, 2023 will be considered.

It may be noted that the Padma Awards are amongst the highest civilian awards of the country.

The award seeks to recognize 'work of distinction' and is given for distinguished and exceptional achievements/service in all fields/disciplines, such as art, literature and education, sports, medicine, social work, science and engineering, public affairs, civil service, trade and industry etc.

All persons without distinction of race, occupation, position or sex are eligible for these awards.
