SOG discusses President's visit

Ahead of the scheduled visit of President Pranab Mukherjee to Imphal on April 15, a meeting of the Strategic Operation Group was held today to discuss the upcoming President's visit as well as the unfolding situation in the State following the 'murder' of N Satyabhama.
An official source informed that the SOG meeting deliberated on security measures taken up by the State Government for the President's visit.
President Pranab Mukherjee would grace the 60th foundation day of Adim Jati Shiksha Ashram on April 15 .
The President would arrive at Imphal at 4.30 pm of April 15.He would then attend the foundation day of Adim Jati Shiksha Ashram and halt the night at the Raja Bhavan before leaving for New Delhi next day.
The SOG meeting presided by Chief Secretary DS Poonia also studied about the law and order situation prevailing in the State in the aftermath of the murder of Ningombam Satyabhama.
IED blasts targeting security forces was another agenda of the meeting.
Earlier, in another meeting presided by the Chief Secretary this morning, the State Government's preparation for the President's visit was reviewed.
