Voting disrupted

Unwanted incidents were reported from the 22 Assembly Constituencies during the second phase of the 11th State Legislative Assembly election today.
According to reports, voting at 41/32 polling station, Khambithel in Chandel AC was disrupted for a while after voters damaged EVM at around 10 am.
Shortly after the incident, District Election Officer, Chandel brought a new EVM and the voting continued.
A large number of women prevented entry of security personnel at Karungthel in Tengnoupal Assembly Constituency.
Voting at 45/6 polling station and 45/7 polling station at Chingjaroi was interrupted after a group of women inflicted damage to EVM.
Soon after the incident, District Election Officer of the concerned district brought a new EVM and the voting continued, the reports said.
Voting at a polling station under Nungba Headquarter was also disrupted after a mob went on rampage.
However, the voting continued under tight security arrangement, it added.
