Senapati, February 08 2025: The United Naga Council (UNC) has clarified today that it did not hold any meeting with the Manipur State unit of the Naga People's Front (NPF) on the "unfolding political situation" of Manipur as reported in an Imphal based newspaper in today's edition.

The news item published on February 8, 2025 and circulated in media outlets regarding the alleged meeting with NPF, Manipur state unit on the simmering political crisis in the State is unfounded and uncalled for, the UNC said in a statement.

The UNC put on the record straight that there was no such meeting as reported with NPF legislators on the same matter as UNC has nothing to do with the ongoing leadership crisis in the State" .

Notably, NPF is a partner of the BJP-led Govt and the Government is currently facing a serious crisis with many of its MLAs demanding change of leadership.
